Here is the CMT Uptime check phrase

Studio

CID is housed at the Institute for Social Research and includes a new type of space for graduate students and faculty. This space was designed and built in collaboration with faculty from Taubman School of Architecture as a pedagogical and spatial prototype for a new and flexible training and collaboration model. With support from the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School, we also scientifically study the effects of this redesigned, student-centered research space on student integration, behavior, and outcomes.

This project takes inspiration from the studio model that is often regarded as the preserve of arts, design, and architectural schools. Studio refers to a form of problem/project-based learning that emphasizes collaboration and reflection and that is undertaken through the pedagogical tools of externalization (making ideas and material visible) and critique (iterative process of refinement through discursive feedback).
