Collaborative Virtual Inequality Brownbag
The Center for Inequality Dynamics (CID) is launching a new virtual seminar series to help maintain an intellectual community during this public health crisis and provide an opportunity for social connections, the Collaborative Virtual Inequality Brownbag (COVIB). In late summer 2020, the series will take the form of a virtual book club that engages with work that provides a vision of economic and racial justice.
We will run a COVIB pilot session, on Aug 14, 2020, in the form of an open book club-style discussion of two books:
How to be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi
How to be an Anti-Capitalist in the 21st Century by Erik Olin Wright
Our inaugural COVIB semester will begin on September 25, 2020, with presentations from graduate and postdoctoral students from across five inequality centers from:
University of Michigan, Cornell University, Duke University, Stanford University, and City University of New York
